Howdy
Hey people, I'm new here I just got the 4runner from my brother, and am looking forward to frequenting here with all my questions, pics, etc. I've been a longtime member at JeepsUnlimited.com for my Grand Cherokee (5" lift, lockers, 4.56's, 33's, other crap). Hopefully I'll learn as much about Yota's now as about Jeeps. I've been lurking for a couple weeks, and you guys seem nicer than JU or Pirate
My plans for the 4runner are to keep it pretty simple, Downey coils, torsion bars, go up to 32's from the 31's, other misc. stuff. I'm counting on Toyota reliability to get me through the rest of college .
Couple questions: How can I find out what my stock gear ratio is? Also, I have a loud pop/pang noise when I turn to full lock and move, sometimes...sorry so vague, but any ideas?

well, the popping is probably due to plastic caps not being on the steering stops anymore. they tend to fall off quite frequently or they're just used up. you can go to a toyota dealer and get new ones, its not a big deal. as far as gearing, heres a link that you can use to find it out, just takes a little decoding http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/other/4_axles.html
