How to prepare for a long summer of driving?

I'm employed as a seasonal wildlife tech this summer and I will be living out of my truck for 3 months driving between PA and WV and then back to Mass. Going to be putting lots of highway miles on the truck as well as some offroading to get to certain forest roads in the boonies. I'm picking up a cap for the back so i can sleep in there on an air mattress and I've got some ideas about how i'm going to manage the cargo back there(thanks to tons of posts about sleeping platforms)

now... things i'm thinking about for this trip...
i'll be basically cut off from most towns for weeks at a time so what are some things i should bring maintenance wise? I haven't gone on any long trips like this before in my truck so i'm looking to hear some advice from peoples with experience. Anyone know about wiring a 12 volt to the bed and how is that gonna affect my battery with all the driving? I've got a lot of things in mind to bring but I just wanted to hear what you guys have to say so that i dont miss any obvious necessities like an idiot

You'll definitely get some good advice here on YT... but also check out Expedition Portal. Forums there are very good.
