When your truck runs like crap

They dont need replaced on DD's very often and on trail rigs you could go through them pretty quick depending on what you do.

Not sure exactly when its "recomended"

Get some NGK wires and plugs and Call it good for years

I usually replace them every 1 - 2 years. wether they need it or not. But then i take EXTRA good care of my truck.

for the $30 it is worth it to get them and not worry about them.

I do mine every 40,000KM or so. I'm quite anal about little things like spark plugs, air filters and oil changes.

Hate to say it guys if you go over 30K with your plugs you are pushing your luck, 50K max for spark plugs. Anything after that and your engine performance will start to suffer and you can do damage to your engine if it starts to "ping and miss fire". Frankly I have NEVER changed my plug wires even at 155K... Probably will change the wire set at next spark plug change at 170K...

I'd change the wires once they start to feel stiff or brittle but it's the plugs that I change about every 40k-50k miles.

hmmmm seems a wide variety of opinions.

Is the Toyota recommended service interval 30K miles?

Wear and tear on the car can play a big part on how often spark plugs should be checked for replacement.

I'm building a website that will let car owners track their car's maintenance online and receive reminder emails when it's time for scheduled maintenance. It will also have some social aspects so you can see what sort of maintenance other people with the same car as you are doing.

I'm looking for folks to offer their thoughts & ideas, as well as provide feedback once the site is ready for testing. If you're interested, please sign up here: bit.ly/fivbYv (be sure to type in the regular "http" first... it won't let me post a link here)

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions...

When I Google your URL I get a bunch of crap about coupons. This doesn't sound legit?

30K on plugs. Wires 100K or ten years--unless there is a reason to suspect a problem.

I just swapped my wires out on the 2.7 L today. I'm pretty sure they're the originals at 167k. They looked perfectly fine, but I'm trying to fix an idling problem, so I figured it was worth $42 to give it a shot (didn't fix it ). Anyway, now I've got a spare set of wires for an emergency I guess. I kind of like the new blue NGKs.
