How much can the stock tire carrier take?

Just what I'm asking.....how large of a tire do you think it could handle without ripping away from the body at the mounts? I've got 33's and wanted to stick a spare on there, but didn't know if it'd work. 33x10.50? 33x12.50?....what do you guys think?

I'm curious also.
Since I'm going to move the spare over 2" and up 3".
And will be adding a gerry can on the hinged side.

I've got a 32" (265-75-16) Nitto maounted on mine. no trouble, no sagging. It's pretty stout and I would think a 33" would be no problem other than just BIG.

I have the factory tire mount from a 90-91 on my 94 without any supports on the inside of the 1/4 panel as the 90-91 came with and have 32" BFG-AT's and there is no sagging or problems with mine. I've also thought of doing the same thing with a jerry can also but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I've got a 15 x 33 x 12.5 on mine no problems other than a little less rear window to see through.

When fully loaded with gas cans, jack, second spare, 2 / 6 gallon water cans and misc other stuff not including the rack is a little over 300 lbs.
About the only time it really see's that much weight is when we are out in the woods for a week or more.

hmmm...wow...good to know. I thought the 33 was gonna be a big deal for it, but I guess not with all that weight you guys are carrying. I stuck some bfg a/t 33x12.50's on the truck yesterday with the a spare to match. I'll get some pics up soon.....

I can stand on mine with a 32".

That's about 300lbs or so. No feel of it giving.
