How many people have broken there CV/boots??

That's for an "89-95" rig but the process is very similar on ours. Once you get into the job, it's pretty apparent on what you have to do.
Get a new boot kit from the dealer... it'll have two boots, new clamps and the grease for both ends. About $40.
Or, hit up Schucks and get a whole axle. About $140 with exchange, and the process is PAINFULLY easy.

I hit some crap on the passenger outter CV boot and there is a mark on the clamp and a small little tear right where the clamp is. I ended up using the tire repair plug thing and so far, so good... No more grease coming out. Doesn't look pretty though...

Didn't rip the boot. It came that way when bought. A few years later it was bone dry and fell apart in our hands when went to replace. Not fun to take the tire off and disconnect the cv and have the bearing scatter everywhere.
