how hard is it to replace the throwout bearing on a 1981 yota? or what does it cost in the seattle area to have someone do it?

Thanks.

just need to pull the tranny, or at least drop it down to get access to it...... shop labor, its going to be like 4 hours to do.... it really doesnt take that long, but thats what a shop will charge... while you are in there, replace the clutch as well, it will take an extra 5 minutes at that point..... and you wont have to pay for 4 hours labor again when the clutch needs replacing

I agree with replacing the clutch while ur in there. In most clutch kits, the thowout bearing is included. I have heard of shops around here doing labor on clutchs for as little as $170 all the way up to $1000+.

stealership quoted me 6 hours, at $91/hour (CAD), and $450 for the clutch kit.. so roughly $1000+tax (CAD)...
