Yeah man, mine smoked like a fully-involved structure fire...er...fire talk... Let's say it smoked ALOT! I was driving home and smoked poured out, almost as if the rear of my rig was on fire. But it stopped alittle while later. Basically it is a combination of lacquer burning off and the fiberglass packing also burning. It is normal, but should not last too long! I am glad you like your new muffler, I love mine as do so many others that have them! Enjoy! :fireman:

Doink, mine is not loud either. There was a write up awhile back that said between the 4 major mufflers (dynomax, flowmaster, vortex and magnaflow) that the dynomax was the quietest. The reason may be the size. The one I have is #17747. It is classified as a street muffler and not sport as said here at the Dynomax website. Mine is 20" or so, and that I believe makes it not as loud. It does have a nice tone, but it is not too loud. Just the way I like it! :fireman:
