Holy Crap!
Hey all, sorry for the language there but i just about shat myself this afternoon.
so i'm driving to new york city and then to chicago with the little lady for work tomorrow, and after i have almost everything planned and packed and whatever, the freakin check engine light comes on thei afternoon! this is the last thing i need, i'm thinking that the gf's 1991 lumina isn't going to make the 5000km round trip, so what am i going to do?
the funny thing is i had it in the dealership for an oil change, slip yolk lube and asked them to go ever everything to make sure nothing was going to fall off. anyway they run the codes and it's only an o2 sensor. wheeeew!
for those who are interested the code that came up was P0141 'O2 Sensor Heated Circuit Malfunction' i am told that this is bank1 sensor 2 (near the muffler?)
so the question is will this have any effect, good or bad, on my gas mileage? can i replace the part on my own? and finally, i have heard of people temporarily using premium gas to 'fix' a check engine lite, if an o2 sensor is gone, any thoughts? (btw just filled up this am so that won't help it till i hit the border)
sorry for the long post! but damn i'm lucky! (oh yeah and i did use sensor safe goo on the deck mod!)
Cheers
