Hilux Surf/SSRG
Emblems arrived in the mail earlier this week. Removing the old ones was a bit more painfull than I had thought, but eventually got them and their glue off..and applied the new imported emblems. I think they look pretty good!
Thanks Jason!

Hey Bob. I moved my Surf emblem to it's present location. So, I had to peel the trashed double stick off. I went to NAPA who had the 3M emblem tape. It's perfect and probably what the factory uses. It's 1/2" wide, grey and thin. I had to use my surgical sissors to cut the tiny letter shaped pieces, but it works. It 's perfect for emblems. Almost 2 years and it's still tight as a crabs ass! Good luck.

Yea, I don't know that much about them either and I have a question too:
What designates a Surf as a 4WD vehicle? (you know, like the 4WD emblems on a 4Runner...) Is it the SSRG that designates something?
Thanks

So what do they call the Tacoma in other countries? Anyone? I was going to remove all my emblems, by new ones, and have my brother spray them to match the color of the truck. Since I am already prepaired to mess with the emblems, it would be nice to have some unique ones.

The SSR-V is the bottom level Surf while the SSR-G is the high end equal to the Limited. The mid-level is the SSR-X. The 2WD models are offered in SSR-V and "Sport-Runner". Here's a link to the Japanese site.
