I believe ALL OEMs use D2R/D2S bulbs, which will not fit in your 4Runner. You can however buy some Casper Shields, which is an H4 adapter. So OEM equipment + Casper Shields should be all you need. Thats what I have in my Runner.

Check out WWW.MRXENON.COM

This is my cousins business and I could possibly get a group buy together.

I would check to make sure the H4's for the 3rd Gens have the proper shielding(not shown in any pics).

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just bought an HID kit from ebay(OEM Lexus ballast+bulbs) and casper shield for h4. I'm wondering what the beam patterns look like. Anyone have a pic of non-projectored beam patterns for 3rd gen housing?

I know this is an old thread... But,

Dude, your trippin. Decals and HID are in a totally different category. I would kill to have some HID's in my runner. I have them in my street bike and they do wonders. You can see a deer in the road from a mile away. Now tell me that isn't a benefit. Try going down the Big Sur coast on a street bike in the dark of night with regular bulbs at 120 miles per hour.... Ain't happening dude.

Get 6000K bulbs. They have a nice white/blue tinge to them without sacrificing too many lumens. I've done the 4K,6K,8k and 10K bulbs on my Audi and am by far the happiest with the 6K.

FYI - 4K is stock on Audis. 5-6K is what the BMW and Mercedes Benz cars use.

I meant beam patterns against the wall.....thanks though.

dang! US$ 450.00 ????? I got OEM Lexus kit for $205 off ebay, its used tho but a lot more reliable.

I just wanted most usable light possible and I've heard the bulbs will shift colors later.

Actually, I believe all manufacturers use 4100K-4300K bulbs. The reason why some cars appear more "blue" is because of the different projectors.
