how long does it take for the Herculiner to dry? Wondering because I'm about to do that process to the bed of my Taco and the rocker panels

You should allow HERCULINER to dry about 9-12 hours before
any light use and allow 24 hours for a complete cure. Curing
begins when HERCULINER is exposed to atmospheric moisture.
Therefore, with higher humidity, curing time is shorter.

says herculiners website. i just let mine dry overnight in an open garage, and by morning, it was fine.

How thick did it end up? I've got a dent or two and was wondering if it will adhere to bondo?

 

I've heard good things about this product, However, a Very good friend of mine had his entire plastics on his grizzly (ATV) RhinoLined 3 years ago. He has put over 700 hours of very hard riding on the quad since then, and we have had the plastics completely folded under with no damage. The company wouldn't gurantee the job because it was on plastic, and claimed it had never been done before. I have been extrememly amazed by it.
NOW, for the good part. Yes it has faded from time to time. All he does is wipes DIESEL fuel on it, and it brings it to life and keeps it shining for long time. He preasure washes it and doesn't seem to have any problems with dirt between the cracks

 

After putting this stuff on is it paintable? I finally found a color that is close to the silver found on the 99 4Runners that is in a paint can. My front bumper is all scratched up and I am thinking of putting liner on it then spraying it with paint to match.

its holding up just fine. it doesnt stay as bling black, but if you spray some clear coat, it will. i can snap some pics if you want, but none has peeled off, and its seen some use. if you have the money, line-x would be the solution, but for 45 bucks, the job the herculiner does is awesome.

the reason i throw in the line-x, is because many here feel that the line-x is a better alternative, so i want to make sure you know that is one as well.

but personally, if i had the money for the line-x, id probably still do the herucliner.

Ideally I'd cut the rust out of my fenders and throw some bushwackers on then do a pro job on the lower panels and bumpers.

Since I just bought a house and am on a REALLLLLLLY tight budget, the cheaper the better.

If it ever stops raining I'll give this a go.

Hey northfacer, ever think of doing the fender flares also? my buddy did this to his runner, he did his bumpers, and his rockers, but he did the fender flares too, I considered it on my taco...

 

no for 2 reasons: one, i hate fender flares and think theyre pointless; two, herculiner will peel off of it unless you know some amazing magic trick (me and my boy put them on his bushwackers and it was off in 2 weeks)

I'm thinkin about doing the "cargo" area of my runner, tore out the carpet after a battery acid spill.

 

I have a limited 97 4runner same color green as this one. I really want to do this but i have a few questions to be sure i can do exactly what i want.

So if i sand down the chrome on the bumpers, the herculine will stick? howbout the plastic on the fender flares and the bottoms of the doors like northfacer mimicked here? lastly, howbout the plastic front valence and the chrome grill?

Sweet, I really like the black with the green, in fact i'm thinking about doing some sort of a darker green like that on my first gen. I did my removable top with the hurculiner and it turned out really good.

 

i dont know about the chrome...it WILL NOT stick to the plastic anywhere, so stay away from that. i would guess it would stick to the chrome, but make sure you sand it really really really good. this is they key to the process.

 

did you sand it down to the bare metal or just scuff it?
