Looks good. I herculined the tub of my wrangler, and have rhinoliner on the rockers of my Dcab Taco. I like em both so far on how well they've held up.

Now my brother is redoing the tub of his FJ40 with the herculiner and the bumper he put on the front of that.

i passed by a linex place today and thougth of this thread. i'm not serious about using linex on the rocker panels, but more curious. the guy quotes me $800 for the job. no thanks.

I just have to ask why you have lights under the back bumper like that? Do you actually wheel it? Aren't you worried about smashing them?

I've been rolling around the idea of covering up all the rock chips on the doors by this method, only, I might be more inclined to stick with the professional approach. Murphy and I are buddies.

 

To be completely honest, I havent used 4wd in.....3 months. There is no where in charlotte to go, and I never have the time to go to uwharrie (pretty much the only place in nc). However, the lights are already cracked bad, but they still work. When I bought my tjm from a guy here on the board, he sent 2 hella 500's with it, as a nice gesture, but they were cracked. I didnt want to put them on the bumper or roof rack, and I didnt want them to go to waste, and no one was gona buy them, so thats why theyre there. I plan to get those roundeyes led's when I get some money. But for now, these actually help a lot, and I have been wheeling with them, and they do help, and I did rough them up, and they still work. So no Im not worried about smashing them because I got them smashed, and Ive already smashed them.

 

hey northfacer, how much herculiner did you have left? I am just wondering because I think I am gonna herculine the interior, and rip up my carpet. I am constantly trashing the carpet, and am tired of stinky wet carpet! I wasn't sure if I should get the big can, or the small.

 

Will this work on the chrome bumpers some of us have?

 

if you sand it first to make it rough itll work.

 

Mine's looking pretty dull compared to yours. Need to start doing some mods again after 2 years of neglect on my 4runner.

 

That looks really good, I like the finished product pics.. I used that same stuff on my old Jeep for the entire floor-boards/tub and it worked very well. The durability is good and touch-up is easy, but dirt tends to get embedded in the textured surface and it’s hard to clean. Freshly painted is the best it will ever look, but very functional…

 

yea dirt does stick in, but with a brush you can get it out.

i bought the quart can, and had approx. half or so left. i personally think buying the quart can will be enough for interior floor AND what i did.

ha however make sure you put the lid on tight, or move the leftover into another container....cuz i thought my lid was tight, and just the other day, i checked to see how much i had left....it had hardened up, o well, it wont be a while before i need to put on more or whatever. i suggest finding a buddy who wants to do it too, and splitting the cost. cuz i gurantee you that you wont use the whole can.

 

spray some clear on after and thatll help keep some dirt out...

 

yea i did, and it helped....good point...plus itll make it last a little longer
