help with tacoma radio

My speakers stopped producing sound yesterday and after a little investigation, it appears a wire harness came out the back of the radio. I know it used to be there because I saw it in there a few weeks ago when I took the center apart. However, my problem is I have no idea where the wire harness went!! It is no where to be seen! Anyone with '03 Tacomas or anyone that knows where the harness comes from that plugs into the left side of the radio if you are looking from at the back of it. It is a white harness, it is no the blue ones. I looked for a while and dont know where it could have gotten pulled or fallen down to! Thanks!

2003= take it to the dealer under warranty. That's what you have it for. Let them do the hunting & fixing for FREE.

The thing is though, I am pretty sure I have located the problem. The only thing is, I have no idea where the speaker connector went! It doesnt make any sense at all. The white connector is no where at all when I pull the radio out and look behind! If anyone has or can remove the center area (its really easy) and tell me where their wire harness comes out from, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Don't have an '03 Tacoma, but if Toyota still puts the factory amps in them(i'm guessing they do), just locate the amp and the harness should come straight from it. On 3rd gen 4Runners the amp is right behind the radio deck.

Good Luck...hope this helps.

Whoa, that's just bizarre!
You sure you're just not hearing it because you got so many people?
Maybe the added weight? Find some heavier friends and load 4 of them in

Okay I took a look and realize there is no other wire harness. Toyota does not have a factory amp that is separate from the radio, it is in the radio. My brother had his stock radio replaced on his '02 4runner and taking a look at it, I see the separate amp that has a harness come in and then out to the radio. However, there is no amp anymore...the harness just goes right into the radio. Anyways, my radio stops producing sound randomly! I turn it on, it will play maybe for a a few seconds to a minute, then the sound stops coming out but the radio still plays. My amp still detects signal from the speakers and stays on, meaning that there is still signal from the speakers, just no sound signal. When I turn the radio off, the amp stays on meaning ti still detects signal (but no sound)!!

Before you show evidence of screwing with it, I would take it in under warranty. How far do you live from the stealer?

okay i found out what is wrong. there is a loose wiring harness somewhere that deals with the speakers. since i already voided the warranty on the sound system, I am going to find and fix the loose wire(s) by myself. thanks anyways.
