HELP! speedo problem....ugh..
alright, 1993 toyota 1/2ton pickup 4wheel drive, 22re, all stock..... my speedo, and odometer stopped working a while ago, well just now, i decided to open my dash up, and check the speedo cable that connects to the back of my gauges...theres no cable....just the wires...and theres no where for the cable to connect if it was there....wtf is going on? all the other pics of peoples speedos has the cable, even gauges that look like mine...but mine dosnt have it...this is non-SR5. ive got it all still open, anybody have any ideas?? help!

If I am not mistaken, your speedo should run off of the vehicle speed sensor in the trans(thus no cable). I'd lean more towards the sensor bad than the cluster.

alright, also sometimes if i tap the guages while driving the speedo will jump a little for a second. still prolly the snesors? possible bad connection?

Guages are probably bad. Several other members here with 2nd gen. 4Runners have had theirs go back this past year including mine. Everything pointed to the sensor but it ended up being the gauge.
