Question Help with my 90 Yota 4Runner?

I just resently bought a 1990 4Runner SR5 It has a crappy custom 3 1/2 " Lift with cheap 31 x 10.50-15. Would really like to make my rig trail worthy. But Funds are low and this is my first Yota doe's anyone have any ideas or even any parts they whould like to get rid of cheap. Please let me know?

If you honestly want your rig to be more trail worthy and not just look like it, the first thing you want to do is get a rear locker.

I agree w/ adam, a rear locker and 31's on a runner is a good setup. If you can find a used 3rd member w/ a locker for cheap, it is very easy to swap in

What's a "crappy custom 3 1/2 " Lift"? As long as it's not an unsafe setup, it will allow you to run 33s. Rear locker/limited slip etc is a great bang for the buck in trialworthiness. Otherwise, remove the lift and run 31s with a rear locker. Most trailworthy for least money. Then build from there as time/money permits.

Ok I had my lift check out it's kewl. I was wrong about the whole crappy part. But my next ? is my T-Case hangs down real low I was wondering if there was a way to raise it or cover it?

budbuilt.com has low profile tcase crossmembers that can also raise the tcase, if you want. even with no tcase lift, it'll give you a couple more inches of ground clearance there

But unless you are going to get very hardcore off road, don't worry about it. They aren't getting destroyed by normal wheeling - it looks low, but look under any non-Yotas and check *their* height! Its what you notice when you look under there, but it's still 2 feet off the ground... If funds are low - that tcase crossmember should be about last on your $$ list.

Put in a rear locker and see if you can fit like 33x10.50. Then wheel the heck out of it.
