Exclamation HELP! cold running probs..no one knows

I have a 1985 Toyota 4x4 SR5 with 113,000 miles. I bought the truck about 6 months ago and am having a problem with it.
It has been at the mechanic for 3 weeks now and this morning he finally gave up to what the problem is. I now have an appt. with Toyota on Friday...to hopefully figure out the problem. But, can anyone out there help me?? HERES THE PROBLEM:!!

This happens only within the first 10 minutes of driving it when it's cold. It will start up fine, go just fine for the first half a mile or so, and no matter what speed you are in, it loses all power (like its not getting gas), it goes to a crawl, spits and spudders, and has very little power when putting gas to the floor. If I keep my foot on the gas (floored) for about 10 seconds (still at a crawl), it spudders, spits, the engine rocks, it revs up, goes back up to speed, and then sometimes it does it again. After about 10 min. of this...it revs up again, and runs fine once warmed up.....it happens every time I leave the truck sit for more than 6 or so hours. ANY IDEAS?? The mechanic has "repaired the wiring to the knock sensor, replaced the knock sensor, replaced the fuel filter, and ran a fuel injector cleaner kit through it". The check engine light comes on very rarely... Also, when out on the interstate, it doesn't want to go much faster than 70...ever...

Please help!! I need my truck!!

Have you not pulled any codes when the light goes on? If not do that, have them check the 02 Sensor...wait...were those on there in '85? If it doesn't have an 02 sensor I have no clue man. I would assume they have checked the plugs, wires, caps and rotor...if not then I would never take your truck to them again thats an obvious thing to check.

Hope you find it man!

Post TPS...

It could be the TPS. Look here for more info. I'm assuming you are running the 22re.

Also check out the cold start injector.
