So I noticed a few days ago that I had a little mosture in my passenger side headlight. Thought nothing of it because it went away. But for the past couple days now I've noticed a lot more moisture. So I took a detailed look at it and realized the moisture has collected a pool of water on the bottom and turned into ice from the below freezing weather we've had. Not only that but there is also frozen water on the glass lens. There is no cracks or holes in the headlight, where could this water be coming from?! I really don't feel like messing up my HID bulb. Anyone have a problem with collecting moisture in their headlights?

since it's already got ice in it, here's a suggestion:

pull the capsule out, fill your sink with water, submerge it and see where the water's coming thru. it could be the seal between the glass and the reflector housing. silicone it up. if you can't find the leak at the seal, it may have been at the bulb socket. which doesn't matter, you still needed to get the moisture out of the inside.

to do this, fill it up with a bottle of isopropyl alcohol. swirl it around a while and dump it out. it will displace any water and evaporate leaving the inside dry. let it sit inside your fridge overnite if you want to be sure it's really dry. the fridge will pull any moisture out.

 

I seriously doubt it's coming from the bulb housing.. That thing is sealed up pretty good bc of the fabrication of the HIDs. I'm guessing it's somewhere along the seal. I'm prob gonna just order some new headlights bc I've got a hole in my driver side one and with water seakin in the other one, I think it's time for the purchase. I'll pull it out though when I have time from work and check to see if the seal is starting to wear off. I really dont want to go through the warranty process if one of my HID bulbs break from water damage.

dude hopefully you haven't purchased them yet.... i spent one hundo on just the driver side headlight assembly... and i got it on sale... i think the best thing to do is what tj88 guy said and silicone it up
