Lamm....
No good man, Sad to hear about your truck. I was easily one of my favourites.
Good to hear you got another though. What all was salvagable out of that big long sig line you have there?

Sorry for your loss Lamm. It is really ironic that your a Firefighter and then out of nowhere your putting out one of own. I can't even imagine. Just goes to show how it can happen to the best of us.
I've read about 2nd gen 4Runner fires on this forum 3 times since i joined and now i constantly wonder about my own. Anyhow...while your swaping parts to the new Runner, you should consider the 5spd tranny as well

I am always careful....but the other night I was welding on my camaro, the last thing I needed to fix is the rear trunk lid hinge, before I owned the car, before I replaced all the body panels the car was hit so hard that they had elongated the hinge bolt holes in order to botl the trunk lid back on..anyways a quick simple fix, do some welding, body work etc and would be fixed
I welded it up, I walk to the front of the barn, look back and the trunk was engulfed in flames, some plastic that was in the trunk but well out of the way I thought caught fire, I had some heavy carpets and sheetmetal around the hinge to stop sparks...but guess what a few snuck by (those sneaky sparky bastards!)
I thought I was going to have a heart attack, I grabbed wet towels and put it out, I also used my bare hands to put out the NOS bottle valve handle which was on fire, not that NOS is flammable but if it ever for hot enough to burst would have destroyed the barn, my camaro and me
Having worked as a corrections officer and police officer I have been in many emergency situations, but they have always been external not something that effected me personally or my belongings etc, I nearly panicked but luckily was able to collect myself and put out the fire...I did have a fire extinguisher but the wet towels was perhaps the best to put it out
About 4 hours of work went into cleaning up wiring, repspraying the trunk paint, stripping all the damaged parts which was mostly wiring and burnt paint
Scary to say the least...here is a pic of what was about to be destroyed, always make sure your shop is set up safe, thankfully I had 3-4 fire exstinguishers on hand...though didnt use them in this instance

I wish I could swap the tranny, but its just not feasable for me, the reason I bought a new one so fast was because i need it to go to school, work and to the fire dept.
I'm going to salvage the TJM, all the lights, roof rack, exhaust, fender flares, locker, K&N, Optima and my cargo box. All my electronics (sat radio, scanner, cd player, cb, clinometer, gps) were completely destroyed, but will be covered by insurance.
I take delivery of the 95 today...
