I've never heard of the Klasse, but the Zaino Bros has a following here. I'm just REALLY impressed with the Groits BOS results.

There was another thread recently about the Zainos and Corey has a really comprehensive link above about the BOS.

I did finally get the Lowes website to process the "Porter Corey" order for me. Now it's off to Groits to spend more money:cry:

To use the "Good" Polishing pads from either Griot's or Proper Auto Care you need to get a 6 inch velcro "Backing Plate" like these from Proper Auto Care or from Griot's Garage

The Pads from Griot's and the PPA pads just stick on the backing Plate.

The backing Plate that comes with the Porter.....I mean Corey Cable (7336SP) is ment to use with adhesive sanding disks and other types of polish pads. It does have a white polish pad but I haven't used it on my vehicles.

LIVE4SWELL - Zaino is a polymer based polish and Griots is a carnuba based polish. The polymer will bond better with the paint or clearcoat and last longer. Griots seems to outlast all the other carnuba based polishes. So, it all comes down to which part of the country you live in and how often you want to polish your Runner.
In the Southwest the sun breaks down carnuba based polishes quickly where they can last up to a year up in the Northwest (Corey's Runner)

Carnuba will give more depth to solid colors where Zainos seems to be the best for clear coated finishes.
Zainos is the easiest to apply where Griot's requires more elbow grease or a Corey cable. Both polishes require good preparation as they don't contain cleaners or abrasives.

Either way the results have been excellent for Griot's or Zainos among the Forum members.

Also if you really want the Griot's PC. You can get it without the Griot.s logo from www.toolsforless.com Its model number 97366. Has the same accessories as the griots for 50 dollars less. It's really called the 6" variable sander kit. Griots just adds a logo and instructions for using with the Clay bar.

I just finish using the PC with the Clay bar. However I used the zaino polish instead. Great results on the Runner, which is red. Not too happy with the results on my car, its silver. For the car I'm going back to griots.

Geez, they must be tried of seeing me by now. that's what happens when you live too close to Griots.

Glad you like the wax.
Yes, it will be tons easier once you get the PC.

I did the power clay & wax a few Sundays ago in about two hours for the whole rig.
So much faster, and your hands don't get tired.
Corey- I ordered the PC from Lowes today

Brian and Corey- As requested:

momo.75- The SSRG equals a limited in the states but I'm not sure what it specifically, if anything, it's short for. I'll see if I can find out. They have gold badges also. They are pretty inexpensive.

Woody.

Yeah you're right however The model designations stay the same. I think the 2nd Gens weren't available with 2WD though and had SSR, SSR Limited, SSR-V, SSR-X and SSR-G in increasing Spec. SSR-G on the 2nd Gen had imitation Wood Dash, Recaro Seats, Rear mounted Spare and Rear Spoiler as Standard. SSR-X had Rear Mounted Spare, Sports seats (not Recaro) and Rear Spoiler.

A few other differences but not major ones.

Cheers

GOT THE PORTER CABLE TODAY!

WHOOHOO!. I got the PC, model 7336SP, with the polishing/waxing pad today from Lowes.

Six days from date of order to pick it up at the post office. Not bad considering it came all the way to Okinawa Japan.

I won't be able to try it out until at least the 31st. Memorial Day weekend is JetSki time.

Thanks all for your help. Especially Corey, Tom (mertztr) and 2001Millrunner!
