Question Glove compartment light?

Hey All,
New to the Forum, but this place looks great. I just bought a 1999 prerunner TRD. I noticed the light was out in the glove box, and I proceeded to look up the bulb type - Sylvania 74, tiny little suckers - and when I went to replace the bulb, I couldn't find it. Does it go in the tiny white plastic valley somehow? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks a bunch,
-Greg

You'll need to remove the glovebox to get to the rear of it to locate the "bulb's" wiring harness to plug it into, which then plugs into the top lip area of the glove box.
Another suggestion would be to use the Search feature of this site to look up, say, "glove box light"...Good luck.
Oh, and welcome to YOTATECH!!! You've got a nice rig and this site will prove to be invaluable for it's maintenance, upkeep or modification...have fun.

Thanks for the info, and the reccomendations. I am glad to have finally made the purchase. I've been wanting a tacoma for way too long.

Actually, I have never noticed the light being on. Here are some pics of my glovebox. As you can see there is an open hole on the left, and a 'T' shaped opening with a white plastic thing in it on the right. I was hoping that these little bulbs would fit in the white plastic thing (where I thought there was a bulb missing), but now I'm wondering if I'm missing the whole bulb assembly where the left opening is. Maybe I'll try to pull the glove box out this weekend and figure the whole thing out.

The "bulb assembly" may just be in behind the glove box, as suggested, you'll know more after this weekend but yes, the assembly is missing and you may luck out and find it behind there, good luck.

Nope, the assembly is gone... Why would someone take the time to remove the glove box light? I'll see how much they are at the dealership I guess.
Thanks,
-Greg

I'm just hoping that you don't find it tucked away into the wiring harness while your're digging around for the connector to plug it into, good luck.

Think I would do a little more searching around in there before I paid that kind of money for a glove box light. Or maybe find a cheaper one to hook up.
