Its a high flow cat, a magnaflow cat to be exact. Its for free! So I said 'why not?'.

Yeah, I like magnaflow but I fell in love with the flowmaster sound.

I might be the first person to atest to say not to pull your cat and put a flowmaster 40 serises (delta). Im running this setup. 3 inch header into the crossover>>>Highflow cat>>>>3 inch pipes into the flow>>>>2 21/2 inch pipe>>>4 x20 inch tip. And this dman thing is so loud. Sure its cool to have that loud sound echo off walls in parking garages and set off alarms. Im sure my truck has reached a level where it could be conisdred a law violation.

But being so loud and not having the power to back it up. My truck is slow. In strait drive my truck at its fastest clock 16.78 @83mph. It could have been fster but I forgot to take my tornado out and smash it apart with a hammer.

I've got to disagree with Bigkahuna. I think you'll love it. The 3" and 2.5" pipes are way too big, 2.25 is the way to go, all the way thru the system. I've got a pacesetter header into 2.25" to the flowmaster 40 (dual out) w/ 2.25" the rest of the way out. 2.25" is about the perfect size for these trucks. I love mine. It does have a drone sound riding on the interstate, but I think its a beautiful sound. I know I'm wierd cause I can ride for hours just listening to my exhaust riding down the road.

I will say the "super 40" might be a little much. I would probably stick with the regular "delta 40". Flowmaster is the $hiznitlbang though!

However, you have the 4banger and the other guys have the 3.4. 2.5" really isn't too much on the 5VZ.

kford: I looked around, and only got higher prices. I mentioned what you said about labor and instantly got offered a cat for free, new pipes, and the Flowmaster super 40 for 120 bucks installed, and I can even wait at the shop cause they guy says the job would be done in a second cause hes done so many.
WOW you went from getting screwed to an awesome deal, good job.

Go for the Flowmaster 60 series. I have it and it isn't head-throbbing loud. I gives off a nice low tone without being obnoxious.

Im just stating that I dont like having the truck so loud without having the 500 Hp it sounds like. When I first did it, I loved the sound. but 4 years later and a long nite of drinking.
You'll reget doing it, espcially driving home at 3:00 in the morning, when your the only one making any noise on the road. When I get a chance, Im gonna dump the flows (its already rusting) for somthing a little more milder like the Borla.

Well, I fell in love with the flow's street rod sound
(trust me I've had worse, to be exact, I had an Integra with one of those N1 fireball exhausts and its the most mind numbing sound in the word Bizzzzzzz! BIIZZZZZZ!*pop*)

I cant goto the bar seeing as how I'm diabetic! lol

But, I went to the shop today and its gonna be another 5-8 days untill my flow master gets there.
He offered to let me try out a Hooker Muffler and if I liked it he'd give me a cheaper price. Does anyone know how these sound? would it be a good idea?

hooker has been around the buisness of racing along time. People who race thier muscle cars swear by thier street dump pipes. With these they can drive with "caped" off exhuast systems on the street, allowing exhuast to flow through its regualr route. But one the weekend at the strip, they "uncap" it and it dumps the exhuast right after the headers end.

Hooker also makes kick ass headers. You might even be able to be smug and say "you love hookers" and still be politicaly correct.

Id stay with the flow, dont mess with that has been proven over and over to be a winning formula
