I know there is a Washington contingent coming, but I thought for convenience on Corey's end, the flight might be the best.

Sounds like the only hold up will be if Corey says no.

I will hunt a little more this afternoon. Is he in Seatle proper, such that we should be looking for Denver to Seatle?

Hehehe. If we UPS him overnight it's $365.25 and Ground would be $67.99. Or there's LTL.

Auburn is about 20 miles south of Seattle and 12 miles form SeaTac airport.

I'm not sure of the dates but I searched Alaska Airlines for Oct and $207 roundtrip to Denver was the best price. Oneway was $148.

Really dumb question, but is it certain that Corey could go if we make this happen?

I started this because people thought I was not serious on my first offer.

If he can't go, he can't go, but I want him to know there is a chance on this end and an interest in making it happen.

Wouldn't it make sense to make sure he can go first?

Yeah, you are absolutely right. I am a half wit for even considering this.

This is an offer that he can honor or pass on. Pretty straightforward and harmless in my eyes.

I can't believe you get defensive about stuff like this. Just a question man, chill.

And for the record, I think it is a great idea.

I asked him a few months ago but he could not get the time off of work.

Maybe that has changed but, I would contact him before this goes any further.

Corey is at work right now. He is out on the tarmac running around so he doesn't have access to a computer till he gets home.
I know he will decline but if we keep on him he might change his mind.
If he declines tonight i will post his cell phone here so everyone can call him and bug him.

Do you think he can get the time off if he"really" wants to?

He hasn't been at his current job too long. So i'm not sure if he has any vacation time just yet.
Maybe we should get ahold of his boss and make up a story that he is uh....going out of town to uh.... help some needy people

No, he can't.

I'll let him respond further.

you knw what my girl used to do when I told her I couldn't get time off ... she just used to buy the ticket, and e-mail it to me, and said if you don't come I guess I just wasted $250. Then I had no choice but to go, and some how found a way to make it happen

I am not getting defensive. I was trying to shed light on this going on and was poking fun at how short sided your inquiry seemed.

Schaefer said he could not get off when last they spoke. Then the grapevine said they thought I was kidding.

I see no harm in starting this thread now. I have not collected money or asked for money to collect, only a feeling of how many want to or are able to help make this happen.

Thank you for thinking of me with this most generous offer, but I have to decline.
I do not get time off from work, and can not even take a Friday off.
You have to be on your deathbed almost.
I could not even get off one hour early on my birthday last May to go to a dinner with my sons.

1. As Todd mentioned, I have zero computer access after I leave my home each morning, so I could not respond to this until after I got home.
Only the suits have computer access at work, the laborers such as myself do not.

2. As far as getting days off, I am considered a part time employee, although I work 40 + hours each week.
This cheap outfit gets away with it by calling us part time employee's since we do not have medical benefits.
Hence no vacation or sick leave time at all.

Thanks again for thinking of me there guy's.
