Gear/Bearing noise

I have a '00 V6 4x4 Tacoma extended cab with a 5 speed manual tranny. The truck has about 180k miles on it. This noise started out of the blue about 4 days ago. It happens in any gear when I let off the gas and coast. The noise goes away when I am on the gas, in neutral, or press on the clutch pedal. It also happens at any speed. The noise sounds like a slight grinding or whine and sounds like it is coming from the rear of the truck. I replaced all of the fluids about 2 months ago. Any help would be great.

Has anybody else had a noise like this before. I have tried searching, but couldn't find anything related.

Is there a way to check it? Or do I just have to replace it and hope the noise goes away?
