17.2 for my '85/SR5 per the Owner's Manual:

I think the base model 4Runners had 14 gallons or so. The longer wheel base Xtra cabs were 17-19 gallons depending on model as I recall.

Here is a page of the brochure for 89 yota 4x4 trucks...
Shows that Xtracabs are 19.3 gallons, standard-cabs are 17.2...
