Gas smell in the crankcase
I was checking my levels and smelled gas in the crankcase and on the oil cap. My 2000 has 26,000 miles on it and i just changed the oil 3K ago(Amsoil). I read the post below but figured it doesn't apply to me because i'm injected. Any ideas?

from what i have heard a little is normal under the cap, but thats normally on higher mileage engines... do you actually have a really bad smell? or a higher level of oil due t oleakage? or jsut an observation... because ioil is a petroleum product and can pick up the smell of stuff it comes in contact with

you may want to replace your PCV. that's what is supposed to vent the light hydrocarbons from your crankcase into your intake to be burned off. as far as the "rich" smell from the exhaust, i don't know what that could be...
