Gas problem, Any help?

On my way home last night i started smelling gas, when i got home i opened the hood and found my return fuel line was leaking on my valve cover and exhaust manifold. first thing this morning i got some 1/4 inch fuel line from autozone and new hose clamps. The problem is since i put in the new hose i dont see anymore leaking but i can still smell gas in the engine compartment and i am getting HORRIBLE gas mileage now, im not sure why and any help would be great!
On another note, after replacing all the cracked vac lines and cleaning my maf yesterday the cel is gone and no more po171( running lean)
So anybody got any insight please help!

Wash off the engine bay.

Confirm poor mileage with numbers.

I havent washed the engine off yet but ill do that today after it cools down, im worried as its been about a day and half to 2 days since it happened and after i drive and the engine has warmed up good and i park and cut the truck off i can still smell gas at the "hood" or engine compartment, i dont see it leaking in the spot it was leaking but im worried it may have a drip somewhere else. i guess il see if there is any difference after i wash it off. Also now when i cut the truck off warm the engine makes a "popping" noise that i dont recall hearing before. As far as the mileage i would have to estimate it to be at about 12 to 14 mpg. Recently i changed the o2 sensor and cleaned the maf and replaced some cracked vac lines and replaced the pcv valve and gromet, after i did that it ran great for a day or 2 and started getting better mpg until the fuel leak happened and now i just dont know. Got any ideas buddy?
