14-15? Jeez, I get 19 city on my 93 3.0. Don't know all that much about the 3.4s, but it should be better than that.

19-20 mpg, mostly country back road. Maybe 21 flat highway. My winter mileage drops 1-2 mpg.

17.3 average, leadfoot, mixed city/hwy. SPC charted with trendlines and UCL's and all.

I am still collecting data after putting on the SC'r, which could be interesting.

Hmm, my 95 3.0 pulls 17mpg with mixed city/hwy driving almost every fill-up. No doubt I have less power on tap but my big motivation for the 3.4 swap was MPG (power is always nice but to be honest I am happy with what I got now)....hmmm....

around 17 in town and 17-19 on the interstate.
The s/c is a lot of fun. Not too bad considering weight

but the big question here is, what did you get for gas mileage with the truck unmodified with stock tires?

You can expect 16-18 mpg highway with stock tires. My '91 4Runner SR5 V6 was getting 14 mpg highway with P235/75R15s (stock was P225s).

Just comparison. 25 city 31+ highway . x-cab turbo 5sp. 2wd with camper. Truck had 400 lbs in it also. 44k on orig motor. All stock . Never get below 25mpg but i drive conservatively.

I still find that hard to believe. My 87 SR5 Turbo 4Runner got around 14 mpg average with a fresh rebuilt turbo. Much worse than any of my 3.0 V6 trucks or 22RE trucks. My current 88 4Runner 3.0 with 5 spd is averaging 18.5-19 mpg at the moment.

I just got my 99 4Runner 3.4 auto, and I've been getting 19-21 with a mixed of city and highway. With the 93 4Runner 3.0 auto with 33s and 4.88s I was only getting 13-15. So for me going to the 3.4 was a lot about gas milage and I'm very very happy with the choice.

I just got the highest I've ever gotten in my Runner...23! I was happy, it was pretty much all highway driving going just about the speed limit the whole way, no huge accelerations or anything...I drove to my girlfriends softball tournament and I had 5 people in the car, with the exception of me they all weighed less than 130 pounds (her teammates) and about 55-60lbs of gear. I was pretty impressed...the 3.4 is a life saver on gas!!!

I have a '98 Taco 3.4, bone stock. I get 18-20mpg depending on conditions.

I have not had my Tacoma long enough to say. But for what it's worth, I get a solid 20mpg out of my '97 3.4 5spd SC 4Runner.
