gas mileage

I am looking at purchasing a toyota 4x4 with 100k on a 22re motor, and I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of gas mileage this generation of toyota gets?

The year and the transmission will affect your mileage.
Stock gears, stock tires, good tune, average driving habits - 18-20 is ballpark. 22 highway maybe. Less for autos, less for later models (they're heavier.)

For more info do a search, there are probably 5,000 posts on this subject.

plus some yotas are just dogs - you never know with the older ones. Some guys get what Phil suggested up top - some get real bad mileage even with the 22re -around 14, 15mpg

yeah, on a good day a 4x4 will get around 23mpg in the city if its stock. mine gets around 25mpg on the freeway with heavy 31s(swampers), 22R and a 5 speed
