Gas Milage Conundrum

Ok my piece on this issue
I drive a 2001 Tacoma, supercharged, auto
I drive like a grandpa, cant afford the $3.00 premium fuel here in the Denver area.
I usually get 18-20 MPG and have added a few things that decrease MPG, heavier skid plate, 2 inch lift. 16-17 in killing me. I am used to getting at least 300 mile per tank.
In the Denver area, we have winter gas, and I have always noticed a drop in MPG, maybe 1-2 mpg.
I recently replaced, plugs, oil and filter, wires, cleaned maf, seafoamed, new Denso AFR sensor (part #234-9001), checked tires, reset computer, cleaned air filter and lubed everything.
My milaege has decreased. My number one belief is that my commute is killing my mileage. I used to drive 11 miles to work and 17 home, mostly hiway. My communte is now 2 miles to work and 7 home. (difference is picking up the kid from school.)
I have yet to finish the tank of gas I am on. The tank was filled prior to all this work. Also much thanks to the Parts Guy at my local dealer, he hooked me up with a good deal on parts.
I am hoping that the computer is learning the new setup/reset.
I will respond to this thread after this tank and the next 2 or three.
I hope that the outlay of $ will eventually help in the MPG area.

It is usually located just outside of the airbox.
There should be an plastic electric connector on the tube leading to the engine.
not sure on your model trcuk, but the newer ones you .....
unplug the connector, unscrew the 2 hard to get to and easily stripped screws, remove the MAF and spray with electronics cleaner or TPS safe cleaner. assemble and done. Some guys get crafty and use Q-tips and clean the tiny tiny stuff. Not me
The less I mess with stuff the better. jobs that should take 1 hour and 10 buck take 2 hours and 50 bucks by the time I have fixed all my problems.

I just replaced my fuel filter on my 2000 it wasnt that hard to do, except for the gas spraying out when you loosen the flare nuts. It helps to have a lift, and def. use line wrenches (14mm). Havent seen much increase in mpg's im guessing it was the original filter but i dont know, that gas was blackish when it came out of the filter.

Can you not get to it. The little white piece that is coming out of the top of the air box on the inside was dirty so I cleaned that off. It goes up into the main part of the maf. I don't know if that will do any good but heck I cleaned it anyway. it has a small hole at the very top of the white plastic piece. thanks for all of the help.

on my 106k mile taco v6 4x4 i avg 19-22 mpg on highway.. outside temps is what affects mine the most not this so called "winter gas" its more the colder the air the more fuel i use and vice versa with warm air. now when it gets 88+ degrees outside my mpg decrease... from my own lil research my gas mileage is best between 55-75 degrees
