gas gauge in the dash doesn't give accurate reading on 3rd Gen ?

Hi, there is always a little problem with my gas gauge, I am not sure if this is normal or not. Everytime when I filled up with full tank, and I run my rig as usual, the needle on the gauge moves slowly from full to 1/4 level. When the needle starts to move from 1/4 level to empty, it moves faster than usual and it triggers the warning light as it is time for a refill. Has anyone of you experience similar problem ?

fs,

unfortunately the only TSB that addresses 4runner gas gauges do not apply to 02s, only some 99s and all of the 00s.

based on my experience, toyota gas gauges are not the best. we have a 95 camry that has a whacky GG and my 98's GG's needle decreases more rapidly to the 1/2 mark than the 1/2 to zero mark.

Nearly every car ever built does that. Every vehicle I've ever owned does that. Only the ones with electronic linear sensors are mostly accurate at any point along the gauge. Just make sure that it tells you it's empty before it's actually empty and don't sweat it.

Until you run out of gas... Next question.
