FZJ80 Coils installed making Noise
I just recently installed FZJ80 coils in the rear of my 3rd Gen. I left out the cone shaped bump stop that was on the stock coil. Now when i hit a bump, it makes a noise, like the top of the coils is scraping against the metal. should i reinstall the original cone shaped bumpstop to stop the noise. or is something else my problem.
thanks

The top of the spring is made to use a isolator unlike the bottom. If u don't want to gain any more lift w/ the stock cone than here is a tip. Take the springs back out and and coat the top coil with a good rtv sealant, this will stop the metal to metal contact and not give any more lift.

I've been getting that myself. Just recently.
I had installed a drop panhard bar and while driving I started hearing this clunking noise, almost like shifting/bending metal. I got out and noticed the nut on the top bolt of the panhard bar mount had come off!! So, I was like, oh okay, well theres where the noise is coming from.
I put new washers and a bolt and tightened it down with an impact wrench.
Well, the noise is still there. Not as bad as it was when the nut had come off, but, its still there. Big bumps I dont hear it, but, small rapid bumps its just a little dull squeek or shifting noise. Im thinking it might be the lower control links... might need to tighten them or lube them!?
Do you think its coming from the springs or is it coming from the shocks or control arms?
