Fuel pump on an 86 4Runner
My 86 4Runner is currently not running that good. The problem is that the engine just dies and everytime it does it blows the EFI fuse. Now, I can put in a new fuse and drive it for a short distance before the check enging light comes on intermittently and eventually it will die again. But as long as it has a good fuse it will start and drive. It has 223,000 miles and since I've replaced just about everyting else I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump. Any ideas you could toss my way would be appreciated. I can't seem to locate the fuel pump. Is it next to the engine or the gas tank? Thanks

(assuming its a 22-re)
The pump is located in the gas tank. there is an access pannel under the passenger side rear seat.
What are the codes? have you looked into those? I can't see the fuel pump creating a fuse problem. I would look into a bad wire or ground. But check the codes first.
