Front Transmiision Seal

Anyone with an automatic transmission ever replaced the Front Seal - The one behind the Torque Converter..

Is it Hard? Where do you buy them?

Thanks

ive never done one on a yota tranny, but i have done a few on chevy and ford auto's, its not too bad, i wouldnt think that the toyota front seal would be much different, i would get a seal from a dealer, whenever i buy seals or bearings i always go OEM, good luck

The seal itself isn't too hard to replace... once you get to it. By far the most difficult part of the operation is removal/reinstallation of the transmission. The seal is available all over. Checker, NAPA, and the dealer of course all have listings that I've found so far.

Ok - I changed it - It was easy.

Stealership Seal = $14.00
OReilly Seal = $2.45

I used the Yota one anyway to make me feel better.

Good move. For seals, I've found that my local dealer (Burt), price is comparable to the aftermarket parts stores but the quality is usually better.
