Front Suspension Complete
New upper control arms (longer and stronger over stock - machined from chromoly steel) and SAW coil overs (Tundra valving), are installed ($1250 out the door)!!! Took her for a test run out by Lake Skinner in the Temecula, CA area. Lot's of dirt to play in! Excellent feel and rebound over ruts and small obstacles. Also added about 500 asphalt miles during our trip through San Diego, the beach towns along the coast, and our trip home to the Bay Area. Again, excellent feel and performance. Going to allow the springs to settle a bit, then crank her up. The control arms may actually allow me crank em past typical cv joint limitations due to their length. Currently set at 2.25" and the cv's are still relatively flat.
I highly recommend the upper control arms from ATS Racing in Wildomar, CA. They'll install major suspension components at their garage if you're close by, or will ship control arms per instructions. Chris and Scott are very friendly and informative, their hardware is beautifully machined and welded, and best of all it's race tested. In fact, Chris is the second winningest Toyota SCORE racer, behind guess who? Ivan Stewart. He has managed to turn down major sponsorships for Trophy truck racing because he prefers to adhere to his own schedules and wants to keep things simple. Gotta love an attitude like that! When I was there, the phone was ringing off the hook. Apparently, the Tundra guys have fallen for these control arms, too!
Sick race truck in the garage and Chris and Scott's Tacos out front. Just absolutely amazing suspension work on all three. I have no other way to explain it. How about 24-30+ inches of travel on these bad asses???
I've got some pics and will post as time allows me over the next couple of days. Stay tuned!
