Front bumper

Okay, here is some pictures of the front bumper that I posted a while back. It is now complete. Thus far, the brackets will fit on a 97-04 Tacoma, and I will have a 4runner in the shop shortly to make the brackets work on 3rd gen 4runners. I might bet a 4th gen in the shop shortly. I already have quite a few orders, so I am backed up until mid June. I will also be making approximately three different style front bumpers shortly for a variety. Let me know what you think!

Looks awesome, Brenton! I don't have a 3rd gen or anything, but for the sake of others who are interested - how much are they going for?

Nice work! It looks really beefy

I am also curious; have you set a price for it yet?

Hey. Thanks for the feedback. It weighs 100 pounds, but I am looking at making it out of a high grade really strong aluminum that is formed and mig/tig welded in the near future. This bumper will include the winch plate, turn signals, and powder coated matching d-rings. The price is $900.00.
The guy who I was supposed to make the rear bumper for ended up backing out, so I haven't been able to work on the rear bumper, though as soon as he is ready, I'll be working on it. Thanks!

Aluminum is really awesome for bumpers. I hope you were referring to 6061-T6, since other alloys lose too much strength at the welds. Mine is 3/8" thick in the critical areas, which is perfect for a winch bumper. Two of my friends do extreme trails with aluminum winch bumpers made by the same guy. This thickness of aluminum is fantastic. In contrast, I can eventually bend 1/4" aluminum as skidplates.

I hope you eventually get those out on the market. IMO, it would be great for others to be able to enjoy aluminum bumpers. Mine is still one of a kind and the builder is very busy with full size pickup bumpers.

That is a good price. That falls in line with every other bumper for the 3rd gen. I like the design a lot. can't wait to see the others.

Nice bumper. Any thoughts about making one for a 2nd Gen runner?

I do understand though, I don't like hoops, they don't serve much purpose, but i make what the customer wants. I'll also be making a rear bumper for 4runners too, I'm surprised that there aren't really any big names making rear bumpers for 4runners.

Oh yeah, I am most excited about a 4runner rear bumper for the simple fact that practically no one else makes rear 4runner bumpers. it would be a square bumper with curves and all that. It will definitely be a high clearance bumper, seeing as how the stock 4runner bumpers are really really low. I can make a built in receiver no problem......
.....I do plan on making many different style bumpers (i.e. tube bumpers, many different style square bumpers, etc) in the near future... i've just been so busy with doing SAS's and all that that I haven't had any time to actually fab some other designs....
Im still waiting to know when a rear bumber will be available. Hey supahonkey, could you give me an estimated time/month that you'll actually have one made? I'd really like to see another option before i dish out the cash but i need one kinda soon. Please keep us updated.
