Lightbulb Forum Decal

Ok, here is another thread to get people going/talking/discussing the group decal. Let me know what people think. Does anyone have ideas for the smaller text? I'm goign to be using a black background because I figure 90% of these decals will be placed on one of the three rear windows which happen to be darkly tinted. They will come with either clear or no background at all, so yeah.... here are the first batch...

I just said trucks, but I would say the majority of everyone would consider their Runner a truck. I could add trucks and SUVs, but I would have to shrink it to work proporionally.

Thanks Braden! We will see what happens with colors etc. Most of them would be easy to change the colors, but others are harder. Also it will depend on how the decals are made and what company we decide to go with etc etc... but that can be decided later. Also, if its just black and white, the price should be significantly cheaper. (just thought I would add that)

Well once again, I'm left out on the vote beacuse AO(hell)'s browser won't let me. But I like either #1 or #4. I prefer #1 becuase I have red decals on my rear window already. Either way I don't really care, I will support the yotatech name. Is this an actual possibilty to have our own decal? Keep us informed.

Kind of narrowing it down to one of Turbo's, and some designs of Bob's.
Then we can put them up once again to vote on.

I'd really like to see this take off soon, as I'm sure a lot of you do too.

The stickers we had before with pics would be better for a T shirt I think, and just text for a rear window sticker.

So many choices

Stump, all you have to do it sign onto AOL and then minimize it and start Internet Explorer and go to this site and it will work. I do that and I can vote. You have to sign onto AOL first, because that is your provider. Goodluck! :fireman:

one thing...

One little thing... Depending on the monitor you view these, #4 could look really dark. It really isn't that dark, and I can always lighten it up a bit. (just a little tid bit I thought I'd add). Also, the color of #1 is negotiable, and if we had to have a color choice, that would be best one.

If these are going to go on a black background or clear background, I don't know how a lot of the shadowing will work out.

I think that you may want to keep it as simple as possible. Maybe get some cool fonts from here or some other font site.

Are you all accepting ideas from other members too?

Yes. We'd like to get a lot of ideas, then throw them all together on one page soon and take a vote.

We had a big thread going a month ago, but it kind of fizzled out.

Instead of a rectangular sticker with a black background, why not get stickers like the TRD Off Road's? I mean not near that big, but you apply them face down, and then slowly peel off the backing which leaves a smooth sticker that is the exact outline of the writing or text. The LSU sticker that I had on the back of mine before this one was like that. Did everyone follow that?

I just think the sticker should be something with character. Take this example that I was just messing around with. I like how the O's are gears or something. And we need to come up with a catchy slogan.

If you guys like the track that I am on, let me know and I will come up with something better.

Thats exactly what I had in mind...

Cyber- I really wanted a good slogan as well, but I thought I would leave that up to you guys... I'm not great at that... I still have all the stuff saved, so swapping text would be a breese. Maybe we should have a slogan thread? I like that way of the use of pictures, I have done a little with that, but havn't made anything good or that I like. I also think the simpler the better, you don't want some idiot following you to concentrate too hard on your sticker and not your brake lights!!

I really have no preferences past something simple and maybe in a red or white color if everyone else doesn't mind. I can see that this might go on for a really long time, I'm just going to sit back and watch, I think b/w all the guys here that we should get a really great sticker, I'll add my .02 whenever I feel the need too. Thanks guys.

Hey I like these. For a slogan, how about, "Where trucks are built". I don't know, I suck at this, that's why I'm not in marketing.

I like the slogan that cybrenergy had, "where toyota techies unite". I also really like the slogan just mentioned, "Where trucks are built." That is sooo true about our forum, Toyota builds the Runner, but we make it "OUR Truck." I like the idea of the slogan saying something that shows unity and group effort, just the way it is around here. I really like both ideas. As for the funky idea up there . That's my reaction, sorry man, it was worth a try though.

It's all good man, I really appreciate you trying to get this thing rolling. I would really like to support our forum on my truck. Lets keep this thing rolling and actually get a final design done and produced. Is that what were trying to do here or just play around with ideas for fun? I take it that we are really trying to get this thing out and on some of our rigs.

Edit: I really prefer a simple "www.yotatech.com" line and then a catchy slogan at the bottom. Simple address design and then a slogan showing unity or a group in some way(even if it only makes since to us) like the whole "Where TRUCK are made" or "Where OUR trucks are made." some kind of emphasis on the group. Then all we have left is the color scheme, simplicity is the best IMHO.

Also the the "www" part can be dropped and just have yotatech.com
That will allow for bigger text in the same amount of room.
