Flashing SRS - anyone experienced this?
Hello, everyone. First time poster, long time lurker.
I have an 02 Tacoma xcab wish a flashing SRS light. Did the jumper trick and determined it was a B0B8/72 code. Had it taken to the dealership to get a specific diagnosis/repair estimate and this is what they came back with:
"Confirmed SRS light is on. Has code B0B8 for short to battery for LH squib airbag circuit. Checked for voltage at connector for LH pretensioner and has 2 volts (should be 0) indicating that there is a short somewhere between pretensionser and center airbag assembly.
Replace SRS harness.
To replace harness cost would be between $3915 and 4495."
I have searched fairly extensively through Google and have not come up with a solution for this problem other then letting the dealership take me for a around a third of the value of my Tacoma. I'm thinking of taking it to another dealership to get a second opinion. Has anyone else run into this? Can anyone think of a workaround other than modifying the bulb
