FIPK Installed
well i just got done installing a FIPK in my '95 4Runner and am very pleased with the results. my car, as any 2nd gen. owners know, has always been sluggish but when i moved up here to boulder it was rediculous, so i decided to throw down for the FIPK and it was definitely worth it. From the minute I drove after installing it I could tell a difference, especially in the higher RPM range and when going up hills. It is also noticably louder, with the only downside being the hissing noise. The install was easy and the directions covered everything well. so for anyone thinking about this mod., i'd def. recommend it.

What'd you pay? The lowest I found was $204 with free shipping.

Also, I read that it won't work with a body lift.

I'm glad to hear it helped, because a experienced Toyota mechanic told me that it's very hard to get any extra power out of the 3VZE (3.0) when I asked him about the FIPK.
I'm definatly going to get one now. Thanks a lot

yah i got mine for $204, which was the cheapest i found as well. i don't know about the body lift or not, cause i don't have one and i havn't heard. i had heard that you couldn't get much power out of this engine too, especially compared to a V8 but i can tell a difference mainly in the higher RPM's like i said before. from my experience, places like autozone don't have them in stock, your best bet is to order online from a variety of places. just look around the find the best price.

Why not just try the airbox mod?

I did the deckplate, and am satisfied, but now I am gonna snorkel it!

PARDON SELF but the deckplate is not an option for the 3VZE.
And besides, I want the straight pipe without the silencer.
You're right though, for a minute I had forgotten that the FIPK has one of them open filters on them.
I would do the ISR mod but I don't know how.
