Talking Finally, pictures of my 4Runner!

To save space here on this forum, i will just list the link: http://www.caraudioresources.net/ins...runner?&page=1 It has the OME lift with the slightly larger rubber, custom front light bar, and a big honkin stereo! I usilized stainless steel on the install to be a little different. Let me know what you think. I know Corey has been asking for a while, so here they are! Now I get to show off like the rest of you!

Wow...that is an insane custom show install David. I agree, the SS is awesome and sano. I work out of the back of my Runner  so I am so jealous of your setup. I know it must rock, but it rocks just looking at it. Sweet.

I think it sounds good, and i showed it at stereo shows in Portland and got a positive response also. I need an experienced tuner though to make the stereo really scream:confused:

OK... I used stainles to match the color of the truck. I also designed and installed the system so it could easily be removed and be changed back to stock without altering the interior or exterior (except i will need to repair a 3" slit in the carpet in the rear). By the battery i made a bracket to hold the fuseholder out of stainless. I put it on the inside so if it gets hit in an accident, the fuseholder won't get hurt. A two gage ground wire goes from the negative post to the frame. A two gage power wire goes to the enclosure out back by clamping it to the upper side of the frame to avoid damage. In the dash is a clarion CD deck with 24 bit DAC, motorized face, remote, and all important high volt preouts. Below it are the wired remotes fortwo of the processors in back. I took two remotes, disected them, and mounted them on a piece of stainless. I put green LEDS on the indicators to match the dash lights. A 6.4" clarion monitor is attached to the windshield via a bent radar detector mount and it's wiring is routed behind the rearview mirror. In the overhead eyeglass holder I mounted the remote "eye" for the Panasonic dvd player, which is under the drivers seat. I made a mount for it which also doubles as a guard which protect the top and front from peoples feet. It is bolted to the floor using the drivers rear mounting bolts. The harness is run through the carpet using the same hole as the seats wiring for the motors. in the kickpanels are MBQuart tweeters and Infinity Kappa 6" coaxials. Behind the rear seats are AudioControl EQX, Epicenter, and ESP-3. (equalizer/crossover, bass restoration, and spatial restoration processors, respectively). In back Are two JL Audio 12W3 subs wired in series/parrallel configuration the the JBL 1200 watt class D sub amp. For the front kickpanel and rear door speakers are HarmanKardon amplifiers (CA240) rated at 40 watts X 2. Two Lightening Audio one farad capacitors with voltmeters are on the floor of the enclosure. A fuseblock, one on each side of the enclosure, are back there too. By the left side of the reciever, is a power plug so i can plug into my power supply for engine off listening. It is mounted to a piece of stainless also (what else). The whole enclosure is surrounded in stainless steel (brushed) to match the trucks color. The stuff looks cool, but it is a bitch to work with: It cuts your hands, scratches the ˟˟˟˟ out of the plexi and the interior panels, is expensive, you need lots of special tools to work with it , shows all little imperfections, and dents and scratches. I almost didn't get the large top piece in the truck! But it is in now and done (for now anyway). Have any more questions, just ask!

David,

Do you have a Clarion HX-D10 by any chance ????

I picked one up on a clearance for $350 and it is smoking.

I am running in with four small amps and a Clarion x-over but I would like the Clarion sound processor eventually.

David (Also 'David')

David, I'll tune your stereo for you, if you are willing to come to Hillsboro. I have an Audio Control RTA and a scope to fine tune you're system. Also some test CDs you can try. Check out my pictures, I went for more sound quality than loudness. I used to just IASCA sound off back home. Just let me know.

Ok, details... It has a standard/soft OME lift, 265/75R16 tires, a custom stainless front light bar with two stainless KC daylighters and firestik antenna, a rear step hitch on the reciever, a yakima roof rack, inside is a clarion h/u with the control knobs for two processors from out back mounted on a piece of stainless. A 6.4" monitor is by the rearview mirror with wiring routed up through the headliner. A Panasonic dvd player is mounted under the drivers seat in a cage of sorts to prevent damage from getting kicked or stepped on made out of stainless. Yes, there is a player in there! Behind the rear seats are Audiocontrol ESP-3, Epicenter, and EQX. These are spatial restoration, bass restoration, and a crossover/equalizer, respectively. Out back are two lightening audio capacitors with voltmeters, two harman/Kardon CA240 40wattX2 amps for the front and rear door speakers and a JBL BP1200.1 1200watt amp for the subs. Up front are infinity kappa coaxial and mbquart tweeters, full range speakers in the rear doors, and JL audio 12w3 subs hidden within the enclosure (X2). A cobra cb finishes it off. Whew!

Hillsboro huh? I just may take you up on that! There is a big show on the 17th-18th with magazine coverage (supposidly) with a lot of demo vehicles. Check out IASCA.com under events. I was looking at the pictures of your truck unsam and that looks really, really nice. Wow. Last weekend I was told i almost have the SQ part of the system nailed. Just a little too much treble. But I am working with a handicap... i have no one to help me out or give opinions on adjustments I made. It is like I am trying to build a spaceship to get to mars for the first time. All I used to tune the system for now is my two ears. I use the IASCA and Autosound 2000 test cd's to set it up. That would be really cool to see you on the weekend of the 17-18 by mall 205 off stark st in portland. I could maybe meet you there so I could check out your ride also in addition to the tuning maybe. i hope to meet a fellow auto sound/4runner enthusiast!
