Well, at least one of our vehicles can do that. Mine can smoke, too, but not from the tires...unless they're on fire. ;-)

Hmmm, I didn't really think of that. I don't know, for now I will stick with the same name...

Now that URD has the entire kit, Blower + Fuel upgrades I'm been trying to save up to get it. Seems like a good deal but its for a limited time or so the site says.

I have yet to drive a S/C 3.4...How would you say the increase in power is? Is it like mind blowing, pretty sweet or just a nice little increase?

Looks good btw!

It's like this: You know how the power on your N/A engine pulls decently from 3800 - 4500? Well, that "pull" is pretty much available from 2500 to redline at all times now.

So, I would list it as "pretty sweet."

My conclusion might change as I drive it more. I have only driven it about 5 miles since it went on. Can't wait to take out for more!

OK guys, I got a little more drive time. I must admit, the rig is quite docile (like stock) just putting around. That's a good thing IMO. Now, when you need the power and get on it, it REALLY starts to pull hard from 3500 to redline. In 3rd gear, it is almost scary from 4K to redline as the speedo just starts cookin like no other. I am still being a bit conservative on it as I did hear some HG/LR ping (once) in 4th at 2K RPM floored.

The power delivery is really nice and linear, unlike some turbos.

I am thinking I will need a tuning device such as the SMT6 or FTC-017E as I did have HG/LR ping (mentioned above). I am going to drive it a little more and see how it does.

So far, so good.

How many miles do you have on yours? I'm glad to hear your S/C came off a rig close to 200k, as mine has 155k on it and I would like to bolt on some power too (now that the s.o.b. is finally paid off).

Thanks Mark! But I do have the HG/LR ping intermittently. So, FTC or SMT here I come!

Did you get that fan?

Yeah... my path was pretty much the same. I was okay for probably 100ish miles, and then as the ECU adjusts for the new airflow, things start to lean out up top and the timing gets whacked. So (as you know!) you need some help to work through it.

Yeup! (you have email waiting for you from earlier today) It's the end of an era and I'm officially done with electric fans. (ish)

Thanks Todd. It is a lot of fun, I must admit. I am really digging how it sounds at a very low RPM just creeping in any gear. It has a great "whine" to it. I am not sure why I am so fascinated with this small point...oh, and I also like the sound it makes at full boost.

You would not believe how easy it is to distance yourself from any average vehicle on the road - especially from a roll. It just pulls away from them with ease and leaves them wondering what just happened - even when they are trying to get around you (I have done that a couple times now). I actually find myself driving a bit less agressively; knowing that I have power humbles me for some reason. Good thing too because I am pretty amped when I drive, which is one of my downfalls.

Yeah, I am going to get the SMT6 and get rid of the HG/LR ping. I might be able to find a few ponies here and there in the process. We'll see.

If you get it custom tuned I wouldnt be surprised one bit if you got some more power out of it.

I'm curious, what are you thinking of when you say "custom tuned"?

Even with the piggyback, there's not a ton that can be done anywhere except WOT. There's a new FTC that will fake the ECU into thinking that you're in open loop all the time, thus allowing tuning in cruise, but the resolution of these piggybacks isn't really fine enough to tweak the engines to an inch of their lives (you get within about a foot )

That said, I know I have more power running the SMT than without. A lot of that comes from being able to _advance_ the timing down low, and actually adding some advance in up top during WOT. But this kind of work isn't really "custom", it's pretty straight forward (though can be time consuming at first).
