Cool Finally got charged, supercharged that is!

It's about freakin time!

Walbro 190, 170 thermo, 2-step colder plugs, Redline Water Wetter + 70/30 water/coolant mix, premium fuel...TRD SC'r.

It runs great. Nice and quick. So far, no pinging, but it's hard to hear things over my exhaust. I would like to get an EGT gauge to keep a close eye on things.

Yeah, I drive it about 300 miles per month, so the fuel cost is not really an issue. Kinda crazy, but I filled her up at Costco two days ago for $2.35/gal. Not too bad really!

Thanks guys, sorry to rub it in (if I did).

87K. The donor rig I pulled this off of had 197K and ran flawlessly. It was SC'd for about 100K.

The donor rig had the old style pulley with bracket. So, I snagged it and cut it in half (as you can see) and purchased the dynamic tensioner from trdparts4u. So, thanks to gadget, I now have the nose supported. The belt is pulley down on the nose pretty hard, so gadget was totally on to something when he suggested this mod.

NICE!! Any plans to add a piggy back, WMI, increasing boost, and a FMU or FPR?

Well, my primary concern is detonation/spark knock/ping. So far, with my limited testing, I don't have any (that is audible). For now, the SMT6 or FTC- 017E units are not needed. That could change.

No plans to increase boost.

I have the "free FMU" mod in place right now. It seems to work great. No need for a new FPR. The stock FPR can handle the increased demand for fuel (in conjunction with the Walbro 190).

So, the big question is: Will I leave well enough alone? Only time will tell...

Thats a big NO! You know you will tamper with it in time. Just like when I reading on how a guy went from a 4cyl 4runner... mod'd it out, then swapped that out for a supra engine and placed a ford intercooler on the sucker. Got full boost at 2500RPMS Talk about spinning 35s!

Nice job, Christian! How long did the project take? Swing by my place this weekend if you get the chance -- I should be around.

Well, I can't really put a number on how long, mainly because I did everything in bits and pieces. I also had to order a couple things and make a couple runs to the store. For the most part, everything went in great. You can tell the kit was designed around this engine, instead of some aftermarket piece that has to be fabricated into place.

I will keep an eye out for you this weekend. Either that, I will just do a huge smokey burnout in front of your house.
