Fan clutch upgrade ?
Hey all,
There is a Tacoma TSB that upgrades the fan clutch on 3.4 engines so they can tow 5000 pounds from 3500.
The upgrade is: Green fan clutch - Toyota P/N 16210-62011. Part is called "fluid coupling" and costs $124.80. The previous clutch is orange for 3500#.
Does anyone know if this applys to the 4Runner. If it wasn't pouring out I would check the color of my fan clutch.
Pete

Phil,
I definetly agree with you. Gadget did research in this area and prototyped the original electric fan mod. Plus, I believe you may gain a pony or two. I just wanted to know more about the the green clutch. I guess it ain't easy being green (sorry).
