Question Fake water pump??????

Hey eveyone. Going to be dropping in my 3.4 this up coming weekend. It just needs the fake water pump that the fan and pulleys hook up to. I know the toyota fake water pump/fan asselbly is the best way to go. But at around $300 i was wondering if anyone has ever used a new aftermarket fan assemly/fake water pump with the clutch fan hooked up to it. I know mt_goat is using an aftermarket assembly but he is also using an efan. I have thought about getting a used toyota assembly but my concern on both the used and aftermarket is the bearings. What I will probably end up doing is get the aftermarket and a cheap used one as a back up. Opinions???

I would stick with a new factory one, or a used factory one. I have heard horror stories of the casing on the aftermarket ones exploding becuase they are made of cheap pot metal instead of cast aluminum.

Besides that they go as cheap as possible when making those things...so that means the quality of the bearings is terrible too.

You found an OEM one for only $300? I thought they were more than twice that. I'd go with the OEM for $300, and might also go with an e-fan to remove most of the stess on it.

Get a new one from Toyota of Dallas or get used one out of a junkyard.
Do not use an aftermarket part for this application.
