Factory Fog switch? (3rd Gen)

I have the Hella factory fog lights that I installed, per the instructions from Toyota.

I got this crazy idea to replace the factory switch (no light) with a lighted switch so I got one of these (The illuminated switch, part number 00550-35976) and went to install it. I found only two wires connected to the old switch and the new switch requires three. I found that the new switch on http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/4Runner/tech/switch/ is top-ground, middle-hot and bottom-from relay.

Tested the two wires I have black-red and black-green and found the black-red to be the hot. I added a ground wire to the top and it works, but no light on the switch. I tried every combo on the switch and could only get the crazy thing to light once and I have no idea what combo I had, but it was wrong as the fog lights were always lit.

I went to check the schematics on http://www.top4runners.com/ja/electrical.html#fogmod but found the link for the schematic is bad :-(

Anyone done this with un-modified factory fog lights?

If you have this 3 prong switch, you'll need both power and ground to make it light. I am not sure if the fogs on the 4runner are ground switched or positive switched (can't remember but I believe it is switched ground). If it is, then you need to run a positive to the 3rd post (2 prongs are the actual switch, the 3rd is for illumination) to get the switch to illuminate (if it is switched positive, then just run a ground to the other post).
