Exhaust Systems?

I've got an 01 4runner that I'm just now starting to do stuff to and I believe my first big mod will be a cat back exhaust.
I'm looking to have a deep sound that is just loud enough to hear while I'm cruising. I've tried to search but I can't really find anything but junk sites so if you have suggestions on which exhaust to get and where to get it please let me know.

Thanks

I've got a Magnaflow #11286 muffler in the marketplace right now. Check it out. Sounds like what you want. Search my posts and you will see why I'm getting rid of it.

Check out the Jardine catback system. I have it on my '02 and it sounds killer! The power increase was noticable too! Do a search on Jardine here and you'll find plenty of other info on those systems. Visit dougthorleyheaders.com and talk to Nick for a smoking deal!

cat-back

I am thinking of the JBA Evol system. They used to sell both an aluminized and a stainless version, but I am told that the new systems are stainless only. The old part numbers had different prefixes and the same last four digits and the new part number has the same last four but a new prefix.

I bought the trd exhaust for my 2000 4runner. It's overpriced, but the fit and sound are good.

How close to overly loud is that 40 series flowmaster. I know its a pretty loud muffler but does the dual exit quiet it down some?

The delta series is a little quieter than the standard 40, I ran two of those on my 69 Mustang and they were tolerable

I like the Magnaflow 24" muffler which I might get one by summer. Watch going over 2.25" since you will lose a little down low going over than on a NA 3.4.
The power increase you will see is in the midrange but the only place you really will see it is on the dyno since it's only 3-4whp if that. More of a sound mod than a power one..

it depends how loud you like it..im only 17 and to me im used to all my friends straight pipe v8s so i want something that rumbles and i dont think the 40 series is that loud..you can definitely hear it in the cabin for sure id say its like a medium of loudness..i almost think it sounds too restricted with my dual pipes..id like to swap it for a vortex if anyone wants to trade!?

I plan on adding a SC when i get the $$. Will the 3" be alright for that i i can just live with it on the NA until then?
