ESC1 problems?
I have had the SS ESC1 in for about a month now and am having some issues. The rig has developed a tendency to stall on occasion. Usually after cruising at speed for awhile and slowing to nearly a stop, but only occasionally. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason to it. I have also noticed that, like before, it stills surges after 6 seconds in 3rd (auto) like it had only been "half" in open loop as if it was only half tricking the ECU. I wired it correctly and it definitely made a difference in the feel of the truck but this doesn't quite seem right. Has anyone else had the same problem? Do I have a defective unit?

It is an Electronic Signal Conditioner (ESC) made by a company called Split Second. It intercepts the signal from the O2 sensor on it's way to the ECU and tricks the ECU into going into "open loop" when the supercharger is producing boost; thus eliminating the surging caused by the computer's constant fiddling with the air/fuel mixture when under boost. Check out Gadget's site for an excellent in-depth explanation.

if you're still getting the problem, bypass the O2 signal from the unit, so that it's stock. if you're still stalling, then there might be a problem with the unit, which Mark at SS will replace.
in the future, post your fuel mod questions on the www.TTORA.com forum, where there are 10X the people running fuel mods than here . . .
