so if you cam marks line up, then I dont think you will have bent valves,
do you have a oil can, 2-3 squirts or drip (5-10) mills, in each plug hole, with the plugs still removed turn over motor on starter motor, to remove excess oil, refit CLEAN OR NEW plug
try to start with throttle open it will smoke for a few minutes due to the oil in the cylinders.

anyway,i'm pulling the heads and checking the condition of the block, pistons, oil passages and cylinder bores if they are salvageable i'll be slapping in some rebuilt heads...if not, thinking of going JDM and swap out the whole motor.....
i guess i'm still ahead as she sold me this 2000 ltd for $300.

i did the oil in the cylinder test prior to the valve covers being removed and still got zero compression it was the final straw b4 openning her up...
thanks for the suggestion
and oh thats an 8k mile belt-it actually still looks good up close but,def not using it on my "possibly" next motor

I have seen it that bad, and worse.
Camry engines are notorious for doing this. But really, all it stems from is not changing the oil. People blamed toyota and there was a huge recall, but it was merely because people were too lazy to go to quicky lube and change the stupid oil. At least the truck was only $300! Now you can afford a new engine
oh, and who was right? This guy

This thread has me really wanting to pop a valve cover and see what my runner is like.
I bought mine with 110,000 miles and I think it was female owned in it's prior life.
I've done a AutoRX clean and rinse phase and am doing another clean phase now and the motor has gotten smoother but not drastically so. It's hard to see much looking through the oil fill hole that's for sure.
To the OP. You are still way ahead, get ahead a decent replacement motor and move forward.
