Engine light came on: Manufacture Contrl. Transmition

My engine light came on so I went to autozone to see if I could figure out what it was. It was code p1700 Manufacture contrl. transmition. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems or had any idea of what it might be. I will take it into the shop later on this week but have to make a 200 (both ways) drive and wanted to make sure it was ok to go ahead and make the drive.

According to OBD2 codes that is TPS malfunction or short circuit(.TPS Circuit Malfunction For AT )to be exact. May have to replace the TPS! You can do it!!!!

Test the TPS before you replace it. You will need a multi-meter and FSM to do it right. If you don't have the FSM, you can download what you need via PDF at the TIS website for $10 (per day fee). The TIS information is right out of the FSM. I have used it before.

The engine light seemed to have turned off by itself. It has done that from time to time. Is that odd?

When I look up code P1700 on Auterra I get "vehicle speed sensor 2 circuit".
I am not sure which wheel that is in relation to.

The code that is listed on the YT OBD II code page is for a Subaru.

That is certainly not a common code for sure.
