Electronic Controlled Transmission. When it's on it'll make the transmission hold on to each gear a little longer before shifting. Let's you wind out your rpms a bit more. Doesn't make a big difference by any means. Feel free to leave it on all the time if you like it or never, it doesn't matter.

I use to have a second gen and it's kinda like the same green button they have on the center console (I think that's where it was). I call it my mini shot of NOS haha. The only time I ever use it is when I'm in a situation to raise my rpms real quick. Ex: switching lanes in a tight spot, going up a steep hill, merging on the interstate trying to beat that 18wheeler, some offroading, or running from the police while you're under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and transporting 3 mexicans across the border (ok I made that last part up) Needless to say, I don't use it very much.. just when I have to

I use the ECT button when passing and going up hills too. For hills, it's better for the tranny to not keep shifting gears all the time (it holds onto a gear longer), or if you don't want to turn overdrive off.

haha!! great ideas! Now we just need a button for smoke screen, oil slick, and those spikes that come out of the wheels to pop other people's tires!

smoke screen is hazards, oil slick is tap the brakes three times and for spikes you lock your window and hit roll down on the back window... DUH

I just had the same question and figured I'd use the search function instead of starting a new thread. Huh...Search actually does work... Thanks!

My wife calls it "Etcetera Power". Quite fitting.

I use it in the mountains, especially when heavily loaded.
