An easy 22 hp!

Schweet!!!
I've been reading this eBay ad over and over and still can't figure out what it actually does:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=46100

It looks like an Atari controller

Looks like a potentiometer, basically an adjustable resistor. If you wire it in series with your intake air temp sensor you can make the ecu think the incoming air is cooler and therefore inject more fuel. More fuel = more power. The same thing can be done with the coolant temp sensor.
$50 sounds like a lot for something you can get at Radio Shack for about $5.

Looks like an add I saw. A chipset for the Hilux with 2L diesel engine.
They forgot to mention that it is mechanically injected and has absolutely no electronics or ECU.
Now where do you mount the chip? The ashtray?

Patented by Arnold Beckman in 1940, so he either invented it or stole the idea from someone else

We have a winner. Arnold Beckman, and his building here at the University of Illinois is called Beckman institute, about 1 block from my apt.
Sorry usless information, but I always thought it was kinda neat!
